Intro to Computer Science

An introductory course designed for high school students with no prior programming experience. Using Python, students will explore the power of computing through creative problem-solving and hands-on program design. The curriculum emphasizes technical communication alongside core engineering principles.

Key Learning Outcomes:
★ Functional Decomposition: Breaking complex tasks into manageable subtasks.
★ Data Structures: Mastering common types including integers, booleans, strings, and lists.
★ Control Structures: Implementing logic through conditionals and loops.

Course Modality

Fully VIRTUAL/ONLINE synchronous

Lecture: 9.00AM – 12.00PM (tentative)
Group Discussion: 1.00PM – 4.00PM (tentative)

Course period: Session A3 from June 22, 2026 to July 10, 2026

Track 1 – Program Requirements

Prior experience in Computer Science is NOT required for this track. It is open to all high school students interested in Computer Science.

Recommended for high school: Grade 9 through Grade 12

Application period: February 15, 2026 to April 30, 2026


Requirements:

GPA minimum requirements: 3.5

All participants for this program must be a minimum of 15 years of age by the first day of Summer Sessions 2026 on June 22nd, with no exception

Full application and high school transcript must be submitted in the application form
